The occupiers shot five captured soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Vuhledar in the Donetsk region: the prosecutor's office has launched an investigation.

According to operational data, on October 2, servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces stormed the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near the city of Vuhledar. During the offensive, the occupiers captured five unarmed Ukrainian defenders. They killed one of them in a forest belt, and took four of them out onto the road at gunpoint, where they also shot them.
“The murder of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and is classified as a grave international crime.
Urgent investigative (search) actions are being carried out aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
A pre-trial investigation is conducted by the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions,” the prosecutor's office said in a statement.
