The Disgrace Of S-400: Russian Air Defense Poor Reaction To ATACMS Strike

The vaunted system managed to fire only two missiles.

The Russian S-400 air defense system, which Moscow calls “the best in the world”, was unable to cope with the ATACMS missile strikes on the Kursk-Vostochny airfield. The published footage shows the S-400 helplessly firing missiles into the sky, which miss and fly past their target.

Ukrainian GEOINT analysts from the Cyberboroshno project have published video footage confirming the strike on the Kursk-Vostochny airfield and the S-400 air defense system.

The video shows that, in addition to the airfield itself, strikes were also carried out on the S-400 position, which was trying to intercept the ATACMS ballistic missiles. The system managed to fire at least two missiles, but they were unable to prevent the attack. As a result, the S-400 position was hit by two missiles with cluster warheads. Analysts determined the geolocation of the strike on the air defense system.

According to Cyberboroshno, during the attack, at least five ATACMS missiles of the M39 modification with cluster warheads were launched at the airfield and its environs. The attack on Kursk-Vostochny and the S-400 position demonstrates the vulnerability of Russian air defense systems to modern Western ballistic missiles.
