Missile Strike On Taganrog: Key Aviation Facility Damaged

Explosions occurred on the night of December 11 in the city of Taganrog, Rostov region (Russian Federation). Due to an air attack, air defense work is underway in the area of the settlement.

RBC-Ukraine reports it citing the Telegram channel of the mayor of Taganrog Svetlana Kambulova and Russian media.

It should be noted that after three o'clock in the morning, the monitoring channels first talked about the missile threat to the Rostov region, and then the local authorities announced an attack on Taganrog using drones.

The public also wrote about the threat of ballistics.

“Beware! UAV attack. If possible, go down to the lower floors, to the basement. Find a place without windows, sit on the floor," the mayor said.

It should be added that in the Department of Protection against Emergency Situations of the Population and the Territory of the City of Taganrog, around half past four o'clock, an announcement about the "missile danger" appeared.

There are footage from Taganrog in the Internet with sounds of numerous explosions and sounds similar to shooting. Social media from Taganrog indicate about the work of air defense.

According to the acting governor of the Rostov region, Yuri Slyusar, in a Telegram post early in the morning, an industrial enterprise was damaged due to a missile attack, and 14 cars that were in the parking lot burned down.

At the same time, the Russian official adds, there are no victims among the citizens.

At the same time, according to local social media pages and Russian media, PJSC "Taganrog Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex named after G.G.M. Beriev" could be targeted. However, this information has not been confirmed yet.

Reference: according to open data, the aviation facility is an aircraft manufacturing enterprise in Taganrog. The main test base of the enterprise is the Taganrog-Yuzhny airfield.
