Drones Carry Out Massive Raids In Russian Federation's Tambov Region

A series of explosions took place in the area of a gunpowder factory.

On the night of 16 January, a series of explosions were heard near the town of Kotovsk (Tambov Region) and the village of Kuzmino-Gat, where a gunpowder factory is located. Air defence systems are working in the region.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Mash Telegram channel and local public pages.

Russian media write that the drone attack against Tambov region that night was ‘massive’. The Russian side attributes the air strike to Ukraine.

Russian social networks also say that the aircraft-type UAVs were moving ‘towards a gunpowder factory in the village of Kuzmino-Gat’.

Tambov Telegram channels also claim that there were several explosions in Kotovsk. Allegedly air defence systems were working there.

According to local public pages, drones started attacking Tambov region as early as 00:40.

Also, according to Russian media, explosions were heard in Kuzmino-Gat.

Tambov public pages also report about UAVs being shot down as a result of air defence operations in the region.

Meanwhile, local authorities have not made any statements on the situation in Tambov Region amid the air attack.
