The military presence has been expanded in four districts along the Ukrainian border.
Belarus has increased its military presence in the Ukrainian border area. Army units have been transferred to Stolin, Lelchytsy, Mazyr and Homel districts, reports Euroradio.
The transfer of some units became known due to reports about the visits of local authorities and military commanders to congratulate them on New Year's holidays (similar events took place near the border with Poland). Units of the 11th Guards Independent Mechanised Brigade from Slonim are located in Stolin district of Brest region and Lelchytsy district of Homel region, while units of the 120th Mechanised Brigade from Minsk are located in Homel and Mazyr districts. According to the ‘Belaruski Hayun’ tg-channel, it happened in the second half of December 2024.
It's still unknown where the unit of the 147th anti-aircraft missile regiment (battery of Osa-AKM anti-aircraft missile system) is located.
The newspaper said that units of the Special Operations Forces continue to carry out tasks near the border with Ukraine.
