Unknown Drones Attack Russian Base In Syria

Groups linked to the new government in the country may be behind the attack.

On the night of 18 February, another Russian military facility came under drone attack: this time it was an airbase of the Russian Air and Space Forces operating in Syria.

Islamist groups linked to the country's new government may be behind the attack. This was reported by Russian media on Telegram channels.

‘Drones attacked the Russian airbase Hmeimim, located in the north-west of Syria. Air defence systems are working,’ the report said.

In the video, which is shared by the public pages, you can see the active work of the air defence system and falling debris.

Another Russian Telegram channel reported on who could possibly be behind the ‘terrorist attack’ against the Russian Air and Space Forces military facility in Syria.

‘The Russian Hmeimim airbase has been attacked by HTS (Hayat Tahrir al-Sham) terrorists,’ the Russian media said.
