Entering the war against Ukraine is a direct threat to Lukashenka's regime.

Belarus' participation in the war against Ukraine “in the foreseeable future is unlikely” since “it could significantly threaten the country's internal political stability and the position of Aliaksandr Lukashenka.”

This is stated in a report by the Latvian Constitutional Protection Bureau, the Delfi news portal reports.

The likelihood of such a development is low, since there is “strong public opposition” in the country to the entry of Belarusian troops into hostilities, the publication notes.
