Access to several websites has been blocked.
In Latvia, the National Electronic Mass Media Council (NEPLP) has blocked access to several Kremlin propaganda websites.
This was reported by Delfi.
From now on, the content of the websites www.vm.ru, www.gorod55.ru, www.cheltoday.ru, www.tvspb.ru, www.moika78.ru, www.murman.tv, www.kprf.ru, www.tvkrasnodar.ru and www.dan-news.ru will no longer be available in Latvia.
As the regulator noted, the content of these portals is contrary to the interests of the security of the Latvian information space and national security.
The information published there corresponds to the messages of aggressive Russian military propaganda, supports and justifies Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the occupation of several regions of Ukraine by the Russian Federation.
The said websites contain propaganda information about events in Russia and the world, which is created and disseminated by Russia, biased and one-sided coverage of events in Ukraine, news about a “special military operation” in Ukraine in accordance with Russian propaganda, as well as information directed against the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Latvia.
