The ex-head of the AFU called to preserve the Ukrainian state.
Ukrainian Ambassador to the UK, ex-head commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny commented on the question whether he plans to participate in the Ukrainian elections.
Zaluzhny shared his vision of this prospect on 19 February, speaking online.
‘Valery, will you run [in the elections]?’ NV editor-in-chief Vitaliy Sych addressed Zaluzhny.
‘In order to answer this question, let's first get the conditions under which such a question would be absolutely appropriate,’ Zaluzhny replied. ‘I think the following: when these conditions arise, then I, as a person who is in public service and works directly for the state, will be ready to answer this question.’
According to him, ‘so far we have only one task: to withstand and preserve the Ukrainian state’.
‘And after that we will think about something else,’ the Ukrainian ambassador to Britain summarised.
