Institute Working For Russian Defence Industry On Fire In Moscow

The roof of the building has already collapsed.

A large-scale fire broke out in Moscow at the Institute of Computer Science. The fire covered 1500 square metres.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Russian SHOT Telegram-channel.

It is known that the fire started in the evening of 19 February in the building of the Institute of Computer Science named after S. A. Lebedev on Varshavskoe Highway in Moscow.

Now, according to SHOT, there is open fire on an area of 1500 squares.

The fire continues to spread, which has already led to the collapse of the roof. Moreover, it is known that there is a threat of explosion of gas cylinders. There is no information about casualties yet.

It should be noted that the Institute of Precise Mechanics and Computer Engineering named after S.A. Lebedev is a Russian scientific organisation, part of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Earlier it was a federal state body, but on 3 August 2009 it was transformed into a joint-stock company, which since 2008 has been subordinate to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
