Zelensky Makes New Statement About NATO In Ukraine

'There will be no other choice.'

If NATO membership remains closed for Ukraine, we will have no other choice than to build NATO in Ukraine.

This was stated on Monday, February 24, by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at a meeting of Support Ukraine, NV reports.

The Ukrainian leader emphasized that NATO is the simplest and most reliable way to guarantee peace and security in Europe.

"This is true, it is a ready-made and effective system of security guarantees that has been in operation for decades and has prevented the outbreak of war even where there is a border between NATO and Russia. And this is a long border. We must honestly say that Ukraine deserves not only EU membership but also the security guarantees that NATO provides. And if NATO membership remains closed for Ukraine, for our people, in the future, you and I will have no other choice than to build NATO in Ukraine," Zelensky said.

That is, the Ukrainian president added, to provide such funding, contingents and defence industry that will mean guaranteed peace.

“Will we be able to do this ourselves? No, and I am grateful to all of you for this. To all of our partners who are ready to help. Security guarantees are the key to peace, and the more reliable they are, the longer peace will last,” Volodymyr Zelensky noted, addressing those present.
