Two Explosions Heard In Eastern Minsk

The walls of houses shook.

Readers reported explosions in the Aziaryshcha and Novaya Baravaya microdistricts to Zerkalo. Journalists tried to find out what happened.

Two strong explosions were heard in the eastern part of Minsk in the Aziaryshcha and Novaya Baravaya microdistricts. According to Artur, one of Zerkalo's readers, the first one sounded at about 15:00, and the second one at 15:15.

He notes that explosions are often heard in Aziaryshcha, coming from the Military Academy training ground, which is nearby. But today's were not like the usual ones. Artur compares their strength with the explosion at the Aziaryshcha railway station in October 2023.

“I heard that explosion very well. This one was about the same strength: the walls in the house shook noticeably,” he says.

Other readers of Zerkalo living in the Novaya Baravaya microdistrict also heard the explosions. According to them, they were not loud. It is worth noting that Novaya Baravaya is located several kilometers from Aziaryshcha, the districts are separated by the noisy Independence Avenue.

Under the guise of an ordinary citizen, a Zerkalo journalist called the Pershamaiski District Department of Emergency Situations.

“We haven’t received any reports of explosions, so don’t worry,” the duty officer reassured. “If something had happened, you would have already been notified on TV and the news. Everything is fine, don’t worry.”
