Trump Announces New Meetings Between U.S., Russia
Russia and the US will hold new meetings ‘today or tomorrow’. This was announced by US President Donald Trump after Kyiv agreed to Washington's idea of a 30-day ceasefire.
Trump also said he hopes to speak with Russia's dictator Vladimir Putin this week. The American president expressed his hope for a full ceasefire ‘in the coming days’ (quoted by Sky News) and indicated that he hopes Vladimir Putin will agree to it.
In addition, Trump will invite Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the White House again.
Ukraine agreed to a possible 30-day ceasefire, Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian president's office, said earlier after the talks in Saudi Arabia. The ceasefire agreement may start to work if Russia agrees to the idea, Zelensky claimed. The US should force Moscow to accept the deal, he added.
