62% of Republicans Support Aid To Ukraine

The vast majority of Republicans consider Putin toxic.

62% of Republicans are inclined to support aid to Ukraine if it gives US President Donald Trump time and leverage to negotiate a peaceful end to the war in Ukraine.

This is according to the results of the Americans Together for Ukraine poll, which NV obtained on Saturday, March 1.

60% of Republicans believe that if Trump can negotiate a favorable deal and the US receives some compensation, then it is necessary to continue supplying weapons to Ukraine, even if this carries the risk of direct conflict with Russia.

Also, after learning that Russia kidnapped at least 19,546 Ukrainian children during the war and that US support could help free them, 71% of Republicans said they would also support aid to Ukraine in this case.

The poll also shows that 69% of Republicans believe that Russia started the war and that even if Ukraine is “not perfect,” its people are fighting to survive as a free and independent democracy. They agree that if given the opportunity, Russian leaders would expand their war beyond Ukraine.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is viewed toxicly by Republicans, with 83% of respondents having a negative opinion of him. At the same time, their attitude toward Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is balanced (43% positive, 45% negative).
