It has become known when the first tranche will arrive.
The UK has allocated a loan of 2.26 billion pounds sterling ($2.84 billion) to Ukraine to support its defense capability.
The loan will be serviced and repaid using profits from frozen Russian assets.
The agreement was signed by UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves and Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko.
The loan is provided for 30 years. The first tranche of 752 million pounds sterling should be received by Kyiv at the end of next week, the UK government reported.
“A safe and secure Ukraine is a safe and secure United Kingdom. This funding will strengthen Ukraine’s armed forces and put it in the strongest position possible at a critical moment in the war,” Reeves emphasized.
In turn, President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the UK and said that the funds would be used to produce weapons in Ukraine.
"That's exactly how fair it is: the one who started the war should pay," he noted.
The agreement was signed on the day of the meeting between British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Zelensky on March 1. London called it proof of "unwavering and constant support for the Ukrainian people."
These funds are part of a $50 billion loan promised by the G7 countries. Within its framework, Ukraine has already received $1 billion from the US and 3 billion euros from the EU, the country's Finance Ministry recalled.
