They were agreed at a summit in London.
A summit of European leaders in support of Ukraine has ended in London, the ВВС reports. According to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the leaders at the summit in London agreed on four important steps:
- To continue providing military aid to Ukraine while the war is ongoing and to increase economic pressure on Russia.
- Any lasting peace must ensure Ukraine's sovereignty and security, and Ukraine must be at the negotiating table.
- If a peace agreement is reached, European leaders will seek to prevent any future Russian invasion of Ukraine.
- A ‘coalition of the willing’ would be formed to defend Ukraine and ensure peace in the country.
Keir Starmer also reiterated the UK's commitment to support European efforts with ‘boots on the ground and planes in the air’. ‘Europe has to do the hard work,’ he said, reminding that the agreement needs US support: ‘Let me be clear that we agree with Trump on the urgent need for a lasting peace. We now need to work together to achieve that.’
‘I don't agree that the US is an unreliable ally, there are no two countries that are so closely allied,’ the prime minister said in response to questions from the press. He said the summit participants proceeded on the premise that ‘this is a plan that we are working on with the US and with the support of the US. That is why I spoke to Trump last night.’

Zelensky Makes Several Statements About USA, Addresses Ukrainians
The key to ending the war is security guarantees.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that he is still ‘ready to sign’ a mining agreement between Kyiv and Washington and wants a ‘constructive dialogue’ with the US. The Ukrainian leader was responding to a relevant question from the British BBC media company, which published excerpts of his comment on its website on Monday, 3 March.
‘I just want the Ukrainian position to be heard,’ the Ukrainian head of state said.
‘We want our partners to remember who is the aggressor in this war,’ he added.
Speaking after a summit of European leaders in London on 2 March, Zelensky said that the nature of his recent meeting in Washington did not benefit either the United States or Ukraine as partners, but was beneficial only to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
At the same time, the Ukrainian leader said that he would return to the White House if invited.
Later, Zelensky addressed Ukrainians with a traditional video message.
‘We realise the importance of America, of course. And we are grateful for all the support we have received from the United States of America. There was no such day when we did not feel this gratitude,’ Zelensky said.
The President noted that Ukraine needs peace, not eternal war, and that security guarantees are the key to ending the war:
‘In the near future, all of us in Europe will articulate our positions, our common positions. Lines that we must reach and lines from which we cannot retreat. These positions will be presented to our partners in the United States. Credibility, the duration of peace, the right agreement to end the war - this is our common priority.’
