64-Year-Old Woman Detained Upon Returning From Poland

She was sent to a pretrial detention center for participating in protests.

Zhanna Vainilovich was detained upon returning from Poland at the end of January. Human rights activists learned about the detention, writes Viasna.

It is known that the woman was returning to Belarus from Poland and was detained not at the border, but a few days later.

She is charged under the “popular” Article 342 of the Criminal Code (active participation in actions that grossly violate public order) for allegedly participating in post-election protests. She is in a pretrial detention center.
