A traumatologist of Colombian origin is being tried in Vitsebsk on March 4 for “spreading extremism,” writes the Telegram channel “Vitsebsk, I’m Walking.” It is likely that his wife was tried under the same article earlier.

On March 4, the name of Jorge Eliecer Dasa Gaitan was mentioned in the Kastrychnitski District Court of Vitsebsk. The man is charged with “spreading extremism (Part 2 of Article 19.11 of the Administrative Code).

According to the channel, the man is originally from Colombian Armenia, studied at the Vitsebsk Medical University and stayed in the city to work as a traumatologist.

Earlier, there were reports of a similar trial of Olga Dasa Gaitan, an employee of the Vitsebsk branch of Sberbank, probably the wife of Jorge Eliezer.
